Emirates (EK, Dubai International) will resume scheduled A380-800 services on July 15 with flights from Dubai International to each of London Heathrow and Paris CDG.

The Dubai-based carrier, which has the world's largest fleet of A380-800s - 114 - and has a further eight on firm order from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), suspended the type's operations in March.

Emirates has repeatedly said that it still sees the A380s as an important part of its fleet plan in the post-pandemic landscape, despite other smaller operators of the type either permanently retiring the type (such as Air France) or grounding it for an extended period (such as Lufthansa and Qantas).

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the A380 is currently among the world's most grounded types. Out of the 14 commercial operators that collectively operate 218 A380s, only China Southern Airlines (CZ, Guangzhou) has four active, while the remaining 214 are grounded.
