Iberia Express (I2, Madrid Barajas), a wholly-owned subsidiary and production carrier of Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas), has taken delivery of its first A321-200NX.

EC-NGP (msn 9478) is due to be ferried from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Madrid Barajas by July 3, 2020. According to the ch-aviation schedules module, the Spanish carrier plans to start deploying the aircraft on July 16, using it on services to the Canary Islands (Gran Canaria and Tenerife Norte) from Madrid, up to daily each in the initial phase.

According to the ch-aviation fleets module, Iberia Express currently operates nineteen A320-200s and four A321-200s. Its parent company's narrowbody fleet includes a further eleven A319-100s, fourteen A320s, six A320-200neo, and eleven A321-200s. The IAG International Airlines Group unit has a total of fifteen A321neo on firm order from Airbus.
