The Dominican Republic and Haiti, two countries sharing the island of Hispaniola, reopened their respective airports to international traffic on July 1. However, the land border between the two countries remains closed on the Dominican Republic's side.
According to Flightradar24 ADS-B data, the bulk of scheduled flights from the Dominican Republic departs for the United States. JetBlue Airways, United Airlines, Delta Air Lines, and Spirit Airlines have all resumed flights to the island, serving Punta Cana, Santiago de los Caballeros, and Santo Domingo Las Américas airports. The ch-aviation schedules module shows that American Airlines plans to restart flights to the country on July 7, 2020, while Seaborne Virgin Islands (San Juan Luis Muñoz Marin) will recommence services to Santiago de los Caballeros on July 3.
International flights from Puerto Plata are due to restart on July 4, while La Romana International, which exclusively caters to long-haul charters from Europe, has yet to announce any plans for a restart.
Air Century and Sunrise Airways have since announced they have resumed their respective services between Santo Domingo La Isabela in the Dominican Republic and Port au Prince in Haiti. Air Century has yet to publish its relaunch plans for other routes. Sunrise Airways also continues to operate a domestic shuttle between Port au Prince and Cap Haitien.
Port au Prince currently sees scheduled international flights operated by JetBlue and Spirit Airlines. There are no international services to Cap Haitien for the time being.
