Global Crossing Airlines, doing business as GlobalX (G6, Miami International), has signed an agreement with Atlantic City airport in New Jersey to develop the aerodrome into its hub for charter and scheduled operations in the northern United States.

The start-up, which recently completed a merger with Canada's stillborn Canada Jetlines (AU, Toronto Pearson), said that while it is planning to use Atlantic City as its "northern charter base", it also intends to run scheduled services to Toronto Pearson, Montréal Trudeau, and cities in the United States during the Summer 2021 season.

GLOBALX is also considering signing an additional land lease agreement with the South Jersey Transportation Authority, the owner and operator of Atlantic City airport, to build a maintenance hangar there.

According to the ch-aviation PRO airports module, the only airline that currently has a crew base at Atlantic City - and also the only one operating scheduled flights out of the city - is Spirit Airlines (NK, Fort Lauderdale International). Atlantic City is an East Coast entertainment hub with multiple casinos and resorts.
