Helvetic Airways (2L, Zurich) has changed orders for four E190-E2s to the larger E195-E2 variant with deliveries scheduled for 2021, Embraer (EMB, São José dos Campos) said in a press release.

The Swiss carrier currently has seven outstanding E2 generation Embraer regional jet orders, on top of five that have already been delivered. Following this conversion, its order book now consists of three E190-E2s and four E195-E2s.

Embraer said that all seven units will deliver by the end of 2021, with the majority scheduled to arrive during the first half of the next year.

Helvetic Airways plans to outfit the E195-E2s with 134 passenger seats against 110 in its E190-E2s.

"Operating a single fleet - in terms of cockpit - with varying seating capacities will enable us to expand our organisation’s operational flexibility and autonomy," Chief Executive Tobias Pogorevc said.

Helvetic Airways also operates eight E190s at this time. Besides the seven firm outstanding orders, the airline has 12 E2 purchase rights.
