Kuwait Airways (KU, Kuwait) and Jazeera Airways (J9, Kuwait) have announced they will restart their respective scheduled flights on August 1, 2020, although capacity will initially be limited to just 30% of available seats.

The flag carrier said that in the first phase of the restart, it would operate from Kuwait to Amman Queen Alia, Bahrain International, Bodrum Milas, Baku Heydar Aliev International, Beirut, Cairo International, Doha Hamad International, Dubai International, Geneva, Istanbul Airport, London Heathrow, Malaga, Milan Malpensa, Munich, Paris CDG, Tbilisi, Trabzon, and Vienna.

In turn, its low-cost rival Jazeera Airways will initially connect Kuwait with Dubai, Riyadh, Amman Queen Alia, Beirut, Istanbul New, Istanbul Sabiha Gökcen, Bodrum, Mumbai International, Hyderabad International, Kochi International, Ahmedabad, Delhi International, Baku, Tbilisi, Assiut, Luxor, Sohag, Alexandria Borg el Arab, Cairo, and Sharm el Sheikh.

The Kuwaiti government said the capacity limit would be increased to 50% during the second stage of reopening before being abolished entirely in the third stage. It did not, however, provide a specific timeline for these stages.

The country banned all scheduled flights on March 13.
