PSA Airlines (OH, Dayton James M. Cox) has filed a Worker Adjustment and Retraining notification (WARN) Notice concerning the planned lay offs of 229 employees within the two-week period after October 1, 2020, local news outlet WDTN has reported.
The regional capacity provider, which is wholly-owned by American Airlines (AA, Dallas/Fort Worth), said that it was continuing its work on a "long-term sustainability plan". It underlined that while the full extent of the drop in demand and capacity for the coming months, as well as the pace of recovery, was still hard to predict, it was clear that PSA Airlines would have to continue as a smaller and more cost-aware carrier going forward.
According to the ch-aviation fleets module, the airline operates twenty-four CRJ200ERs, thirty-nine CRJ700 Srs 701ERs, twenty-two CRJ700 Srs 702ERs, sixty-seven CRJ900ERs, and two CRJ900LRs, exclusively on behalf of its parent under the American Eagle regional partnership. PSA Airlines has bases at Cincinnati International, Dayton James M. Cox, Knoxville McGhee Tyson, Norfolk International, VA, Pensacola Gulf Coast Regional, Philadelphia International, and Washington National airports.
