EGO Airways (Milan Malpensa) has outlined the details of its domestic Italian network with the launch of scheduled operations planned for March 25, 2021.

The start-up said it would initially operate two E190s, one each based out of Forli and Catania. The 12x weekly route connecting the two airports, one located in northern Italy and the other on Sicily, will be its first scheduled service when it launches in March.

Subsequently, EGO Airways plans to launch the following routes starting on March 28, 2021:

  • from Catania to Florence Peretola (6x weekly) and Parma (daily);
  • from Parma to Lamezia Terme (3x weekly) and Bari (4x weekly);
  • from Forli to Bari (3x weekly) and Lamezia Terme (3x weekly); and
  • from Florence to Bari (4x weekly) and Lamezia Terme (3x weekly).

As of June 4, the start-up will add a further two routes:

EGO Airways has so far taken a single ERJ 190-100AR, I-EGOA (msn 19000165), on dry-lease from Azorra Aviation. It is currently deployed on domestic charter flights within Italy, pending the launch of scheduled operations. AeroTELEGRAPH has reported that the second Embraer jet will be wet-leased from German Airways (ZQ, Cologne/Bonn).
