Bulgaria Air (FB, Sofia) has leased a third ex-Frontier Airlines (F9/Denver) A319-100.

Cargo B Airlines News Update

Cargo B Airlines (BB, Liège) has taken delivery of two new B747-400F freighters leased from NCA – Nippon Cargo Airlines (KZ/Tokyo Narita) and has retired its B747-200Fs as a result. It will move its cargo operations from Brussels Ntl to Liege as of July. Cargo B has entered into a cooperation agreement with Astral Aviation (8V/Nairobi Intl) to offer connections from Nairobi to neighboring countries.

Cargoitalia (2G, Milan Malpensa) has taken delivery of its first of three ex-Alitalia (AZ/Rome Fiumicino) MD-11F freighters and has resumed scheduled cargo services out of Milan Malpensa to Abu Dhabi, New York JFK and Toronto Pearson in mid-May.

Cargolux Italia News Update

Cargolux Italia (C8, Milan Malpensa) has started operations with a single B747-400F freighter operated by its parent Cargolux (CV/Luxembourg) out of Milan Malpensa. It has launched twice weekly service to Hong Kong on June 13 and is considering adding more routes to other Asian destinations.

Carpatair News Update

Carpatair (V3, Timisoara) has launched three times weekly Saab 2000 service from Timisoara to Chernovtsy on May 28 and will launch twice weekly Saab 2000 service between Timisoara and Perugia on June 16. It has temporarily wet-leased two ERJ-145s from Régional (YS/Nantes).

Central Connect Airlines News Update

Central Connect Airlines (3B, Ostrava) will operate a twice weekly seasonal Saab 340 service from Ostrava to Split between June 25 and September 13. It has also announced plans to launch flights linking Ostrava and Munich later this year.

City Airline (CF, Gothenburg Landvetter) has resumed five times weekly ERJ-145 service from Gothenburg Landvetter to Helsinki on April 14. It has also launched a weekdaily ERJ-145 service linking Sundsvall and Lulea on the same date.

Cityjet News Update

CityJet (WX, Dublin Int'l) will be the surviving brand following the merger of Air France (AF/Paris CDG) subsidiary Cityjet and VLM (VG/Antwerp). The two carriers will start operating under the Cityjet brand on January 1, 2010 but will continue to operate under two different air operator certificates for the time being. Contact Air News Update

Contact Air (C3, Stuttgart Echterdingen) will lease four additional ex-Kostar Airlines and ex-Mandarin Airlines (AE/Taichung) Fokker 100s. Unlike previously reported by CH-Aviation, it will not take delivery of two ex-Aero Mongolia Fokker 100s however. It will then operate seven Fokker 100s on behalf of Lufthansa (LH/Frankfurt Intl) and its Swiss (LX/Zurich) subsidiary.

CSA Czech Airlines News Update

CSA Czech Airlines (OK, Prague) has now been officially put up for sale by the Czech government that still owns 91.5% of the carrier. Air France (AF/Paris CDG), private equity investor Odien and a consortium of Czech companies Unimex and Travel Service Airlines (QS/Prague) have been shortlisted in the first round of bids.
