Russia's S7 Airlines adds maiden A321neo

S7 Airlines (S7, Novosibirsk) has taken delivery of its first A321neo. One of four on lease from Air Lease Corporation, VQ-BDU (msn 8088) was ferried from Hamburg Finkenwerder to Moscow Domodedovo on Wednesday, June 27.

"The new Airbus A321neo aircraft will enable us to increase capacity on long-distance flights within Russia as well as offer our passengers new international routes,” Vladimir Obyedkov, the CEO of S7 Airlines, said.

VQ-BDU is powered by Pratt & Whitney PW1100Gs.

Nepal Airlines (RA, Kathmandu) has taken delivery of its first A330-200 following the arrival of 9N-ALY (msn 1872) in Kathmandu on Thursday, June 28.

Hainan Airlines Holdings (HAH) has announced it will dispose of its remaining equity in Azul Linhas Aéreas Brasileiras (AD, Campinas Viracopos) as part of an ongoing restructuring of its assets and to comply with US local securities trading regulations.

Air Transat (TS, Montréal Trudeau) has signed an agreement with AerCap for the long-term lease of seven A321neo Family jets including two A321neo and five A321neo(LR)s.

Air North (4N, Whitehorse Int'l) has launched a new service to Mayo in northern Canada on June 26, 2018, the maiden scheduled route for the city, ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed.

Volaris suspends Nicaragua ops over unrest

Volaris (Y4, Toluca) has announced that its Volaris Costa Rica (Q6, San José Juan Santamaría) unit will suspend flights to Managua with effect from July 1 onwards.

In a statement, the LCC's Costa Rica general manager, Fernando Naranjo, cited the violent disturbances and political instability that has affected Nicaragua in recent days.
