Loganair (LM, Glasgow Int'l) will start daily Saab 340 service from Londonderry to Manchester and from Glasgow Intl to Dublin on July 22. The British Airways (BA/London Heathrow) franchisee will however give up its Glasgow Intl-Galway route on August 21.

Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) has ordered 12 additional A320-200s (plus 12 options) from Airbus to be delivered in 2007 and 2008. It will also take delivery of three additional leased A320-200s between October 2006 and April 2007. Blue Air (Romania) (0B, Bucharest Otopeni) will lease an ex-Rio Sul (SL/Rio de Janeiro Santos Dumont) B737-500.

Germania News Update

Germania (ST, Berlin Schönefeld) has sold its 64% stake in dba (DI/Munich) back to dba. Germania will however continue to lease B737-300s and wet-lease Fokker 100s to dba (DI/Munich). dba will even wet-lease two more Fokker 100s from Germania to launch new routes from Nuremberg to Berlin Tegel and Hamburg on September 12.

Centralwings News Update

Centralwings (C0, Warsaw Chopin) will add three weekly flights from Warsaw to Edinburgh and Shannon and a weekly Warsaw-Grenoble service in early November. In mid-December, it will add three times weekly services from Katowice to Dublin, from Warsaw to Milan Malpensa and from Wroclaw to Dublin and Milan Malpensa.

CSA Czech Airlines News Update

CSA Czech Airlines (OK, Prague) will give up its Prague-Glasgow Intl route by the end of July and its Prague-London Gatwick flights one month later.

Air Universal News Update

Air Universal (UV, Amman Queen Alia) is planning to move its base from Amman Queen Alia to Larnaca after receiving a Cypriot AOC. It is considering adding four more B747-200s for scheduled and charter services.

EUjet News Update

EUjet (VE, Shannon) will launch five times weekly Fokker 100 service from Shannon to Amsterdam on October 31 when it will also transfer its Shannon-Murcia route to Alicante. EUjet will also add three times weekly seasonal service from Manston to Innsbruck as well as a weekly Dublin-Geneva flight in mid-December. It will however give up its routes from Manston to Girona, Murcia, Nice, Palma de Mallorca, Shannon and Valencia and from Shannon to Faro and Palma de Mallorca by the end of October.

SAS Scandinavian Airlines News Update

SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) will operate a twice weekly seasonal service from Copenhagen to Arvidsjaur between December 5 and March 24, 2006 using MD-82s. It will also launch a new twice daily service from Copenhagen to Luxembourg using Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) CRJ-200s on September 1.

Sterling European Airways News Update

Sterling European Airways (NB, Copenhagen Kastrup) parent Fons Eignarhaldsfelag will take over Maersk Air (DM/Copenhagen Kastrup) and integrate the carrier into Sterling European Airways. The carrier will operate a total of 30 B737-500, B737-700 and B737-800 aircraft from bases in Copenhagen, Billund, Oslo Gardermoen and Stockholm Arlanda. Jet2 News Update

Jet2 (LS, Leeds/Bradford) will add a new route from Newcastle to Murcia on September 4 operating up to five weekly B737-300 flights. It has also announced that it will operate a weekend service between Belfast Intl and Murcia in 2006.

Air France News Update

Air France (AF, Paris CDG) subsidiary Régional (YS/Nantes) will reportedly place an order for six EMB-190s. Air France is considering adding a new route from Paris CDG to Eindhoven.

Air Moldova News Update

Air Moldova (9U, Chisinau) has launched a daily A320-200 flight from Chisinau to Frankfurt.

Malev News Update

Malev (MA, Budapest) will resume three times weekly B767-200ER service from Budapest to Bangkok on December 2. It will add Cluj as its fourth Romanian destination through a codeshare agreement with Carpatair (V3/Timisoara).

Virgin Express News Update

Virgin Express (TV, Brussels National) will add a daily flight between Brussels and Berlin Schönefeld on September 5. It will use a mix of B737-300s and B737-400s on the route.

Volare Airlines (VE, Milan Malpensa) has launched five times weekly A320-200 service from Milan Linate to Lamezia Terme.

Yes Air News Update

Yes Air (Brescia) has added daily flights from Rome Ciampino to Cagliari and from Cagliari to Palermo using an ATR 42-300 wet-leased from Air Lithuania (TT/Kaunas).

British Airways News Update

British Airways (BA, London Heathrow) will launch five times weekly B747-400 service from London Heathrow to Bangalore on October 30. It will also operate a five times weekly seasonal B737-500 service from London Gatwick to Grenoble as of December 10.
