Armavia (U8, Yerevan) will lease two additional new A320-200. It has also placed an order for two SuperJet 100s and secured options for another two aircraft of the type.

Alitalia (AZ, Rome Fiumicino) has announced a new restructuring plan that will see Alitalia concentrating on its hub at Rome Fiumicino and cut the number of flights from Milan Malpensa. It is planning to transfer most of its long-haul routes from Milan to Rome as part of the plan (with the exception of Buenos Aires Ezeiza, New York JFK and Tokyo Narita that would be operated from both airports) while its cargo operations will be consolidated in Malpensa. City Star Airlines News Update

City Star Airlines (X9, Aberdeen Dyce) has added a fourth ex-PSA Airlines (JIA/Dayton) Do328-110 to its fleet. It has announced plans to launch a new route from Aberdeen to Houston Intcl in January using a B757-200 in an all Business Class configuration.

Air Express Sweden News Update

Air Express Sweden (AEQ, Stockholm Arlanda) has added an ex-Aravco Fokker 100 to its fleet. The aircraft has replaced a Malmö Aviation (TF/Malmö) ARJ-100 that its parent Skyways Express (JZ/Stockholm Arlanda) had wet-leased earlier. Air Express will add three more Fokker 100s that will operate on behalf of Skyways and SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup).

SkyEurope Airlines News Update

SkyEurope Airlines (NE, Bratislava) has announced a new network strategy that includes the closure of its bases in Budapest and Krakow by the end of next month. It will start to use of its Prague and Vienna bases as hubs offering connections throughout its network. It will launch several additional new routes:

Norwegian News Update

Norwegian (DY, Oslo Gardermoen) has placed a firm order for 42 B737-800s and has secured options for another 48 aircraft of the B737NG family. The aircraft will be operated by Norwegian and its subsidiary flynordic (LF/Stockholm Arlanda). In the meantime, it will also add an additional ex-Titan Airways (ZT/London Gatwick) B737-300 to its fleet next month and has also wet-leased an A320-200 from XL Airways France for five months. Spanair News Update

Spanair (JK, Barcelona El Prat) has wet-leased a MD-82 from its parent SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup). It has also leased two additional MD-87s from SAS.

Air Comet News Update

Air Comet (A7, Madrid Barajas) has added a fourth ex-S7 Airlines (S7/Novosibirsk) A310-300. It is now operating the Madrid-Santa Cruz, Bolivia route that it operates on behalf of Aerosur (5L/Santa Cruz) with an A330-200.

Atlant-Soyuz Airlines News Update

Atlant-Soyuz Airlines (7B, Moscow Vnukovo) has placed an order for two B737-700s. It has also added an ex-Tatarstan Air (U9/Kazan) Il-86 and an ex-Continental Airways (PC/Moscow Sheremetyevo) Tu-154M to its fleet.

Vueling Airlines (VY, Barcelona El Prat) has announced two new services from its Paris CDG hub:

Wizz Air (W6, Budapest) will give up its Warsaw-Frankfurt Hahn route on September 29 and its Budapest-Frankfurt Hahn route on October 26. It has announced several other new routes instead:

Icelandair News Update

Icelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik) has replaced its B767-300ER wet-leased to Ghana Intl Airlines (G0/Accra) with a B757-200. It will use the B767 for charter services on behalf of Swedish tour operator Primera this winter season. It has also wet-leased a B757-200 to Air Niugini (PX/Port Moresby) for one year. Icelandair has completed the purchase of a 50% in Travel Service Airlines (QS/Prague) and its low-cost subsidiary Smartwings (QS/Prague).

UK International Airlines News Update

UK International Airlines (IH, East Midlands) will launch twice weekly B767-200ER service from Nottingham via Sharjah to Islamabad on October 19.

Tarom News Update

Tarom (RO, Bucharest Otopeni) has announced two new routes for the upcoming winter timetable:
Cluj-London Gatwick: 3x weekly B737-700 service starting on October 29
Sibiu-Vienna: 3x weekly ATR 42-500 service starting on October 28

Iberia News Update

Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) will launch daily Madrid-Genoa service on October 28 using Air Nostrum (YW/Valencia) CRJ-200s. It will however give up its Barcelona-Hanover route the day before. It has ordered three additional A340-600s and will lease four additional ex-Air Canada (AC/Montreal Trudeau), ex-Air France (AF/Paris CDG), ex-Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) and ex-BWIA West Indies Airways A340-300s.

Welcome Air News Update

Welcome Air (2W, Innsbruck) has launched twice weekly Do328-110 service from Graz via Innsbruck, Hanover and Gothenburg Landvetter to Kristiansand on September 13.

DAT - Danish Air Transport News Update

DAT - Danish Air Transport (DX, Kolding) will replace the ATR 42-300 currently used on its Copenhagen-Ronne route with a Fokker 50 wet-leased from Skyways Express (JZ/Stockholm Arlanda).

OLT - Ostfriesische Lufttransport (OL, Emden) has launched twice weekdaily service from Hamburg to Eindhoven on September 17 using a Regional Air Express (REW/Münster/Osnabrück) Metroliner.

Ryanair News Update

Ryanair (FR, Dublin Int'l) has increased its stake in Aer Lingus (EI/Dublin) to 28% and is now the biggest shareholder in its rival carrier. It has announced plans to set up a second base in Milan at Malpensa airport as Alitalia (AZ/Milan Malpensa) has announced that it will drastically cut the number of flights from the airport. Swiss (LX, Zurich) has confirmed a previously expected order for 9 A330-300s and has at the same time also placed an order for an additional two A320-200s. In addition, it will also lease two more ex-Turkish Airlines (TK/Istanbul Ataturk) A320-200s. Swiss has also announced several new routes:
