MAT Macedonian Airlines (IN, Skopje) has been forced to at least temporarily suspend operations after its single B737-500 has been sent to Belgrade for maintenance and the Macedonian civil aviation authority requested additional maintenance work before the aircraft can return back to service. Its single CRJ-900 has been returned to Bombardier earlier this year. Jat Airways (JU/Belgrade) has reportedly offered to swap debt by MAT into a stake in the Macedonian carrier later this year.
