Fastjet (FN, Dar-es-Salaam) has suspended all flight operations until the end of January after the Tanzanian Civil Aviation Authority (TCAA) ordered it to cease ticket sales and submit a suitable turnaround plan within 28 days.

Vanilla Air (JW, Tokyo Narita) and Peach Aviation (MM, Osaka Kansai) have announced they will merge their flight operations with the onset of the Winter 2019/20 season.

According to a joint statement, Vanilla Air will wind down its services during the Summer 2019 season ahead of an outright termination of flight operations with effect from October 26, 2019. From that point onwards, Peach will gradually take over Vanilla Air’s route network.

Air Serbia (JU, Belgrade) will wet-lease an A330-200 from its 49% owner Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi Int'l) between January 12 and February 14, 2019, to cover for scheduled maintenance of the carrier's only in-house widebody.

Air Berlin's insolvency administrator, Lucas Floether, has filed a claim of up to EUR2 billion euro (USD2.26 billion) from former majority shareholder Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi Int'l), a statement issued by a Berlin regional court has revealed.

Air2there (Paraparaumu) has been placed into receivership and lost its Air Operator's Certificate (AOC), Stuff has reported.

The receiver has reportedly seized the regional carrier's remaining assets, namely a Piper (twin piston) PA-31 Navajo and its two engines.
