Fly Globespan (Y2, Edinburgh) will launch daily service from Glasgow Intl to Orlando Sanford on June 2 using a leased B767-300ER. It will also launch a new daily route from Edinburgh to Bournemouth, two weekly flights from Edinburgh to Ibiza and weekly services from Edinburgh to Murcia and from Glasgow Intl to Ibiza by the end of March 2006. Fly Globespan will however give up its Edinburgh-Prague flights by the end of this month.
Air Berlin (AB, Berlin Tegel) is planning to significantly increase its presence in Zurich by adding more routes to Germany and Spain in spring 2006. It will launch twice daily services from London Stansted to Glasgow Intl and Manchester on December 16 using Fokker 100s and B737-700s.
Fischer Air (8F, Prague) has suspended operations on November 1 after failing to get charter or wet-lease contracts for the winter season. It had operated two B737-300s on charter services. Its Polish sister carrier Fischer Air Polska (FFP/Warsaw) is not affected.
SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) has announced that it will end its codeshare agreement with Icelandair (FI/Reykjavik Keflavik) in 6 months as a reaction to FL Group's takeover of Sterling European Airways (NB/Copenhagen Kastrup).
Aer Arann (RE, Dublin Int'l) will shortly add an ex-Cimber Air (QI/Sonderborg) ATR 72-200 to its fleet. Aer Arann will launch twice daily ATR 42-300 service from the Isle of Man to London Luton on November 24. It will also add five weekly flights from Luton and two weekly services from Kerry County to Lorient on March 26.
Hello (HW, Basle/Mulhouse/Freiburg, CH) will add three more ex-SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK/Copenhagen Kastrup) MD-90-30s to its fleet in March 2006. All three aircraft will be wet-leased to Iceland Express (Reykjavik Keflavik) to replace two JetX (GX/Southend) MD-82s currently used by the Icelandic low-cost carrier.
