Air Sylhet News Update

Air Sylhet (SL, Vienna) is planning to launch scheduled operations in early 2009 using an A320-200 wet-leased from SmartLynx (6Y/Riga) offering several weekly services from London Stansted and Manchester via Vienna to Dubai. It has also announced plans to serve Dhaka and Jeddah but has again postponed the launch of its Dubai operation several times.

Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) will launch twice weekly service from Burgos to Paris Orly on October 26 using Air Nostrum (YW/Valencia) CRJ-200s. It has already launched six times weekly service from Barcelona to Burgos using Air Nostrum CRJ-200s Denim Air (3D/Amsterdam) Dash 8-300s.

Private Wings News Update

Private Wings (PWF, Berlin Schönefeld) has launched three times weekly Do328-110 service from Marseilles to Albacete. It has moved its homebase in Berlin from Tempelhof to Schönefeld.

Italiatour Airlines News Update

Italiatour Airlines (OI, Verona) is the new name of defunct carrier Club Air that is expected to resume operations later this year after it has been acquired by Italian tour operator Gruppo Soglia. Bilga Air News Update

Bilga Air (Birmingham Int'l) is planning to launch twice weekly scheduled charter service between Birmingham and Amritsar on October 9 using Monarch Airlines (ZB/London Luton) aircraft replacing Air India (AI/Mumbai) that will move its Amritsar-Birmingham-Toronto Pearson service to London Heathrow on October 25.
