Air Maxi (Belgrade) will lease two ex-United Airlines (UA/Chicago O'Hare) B737-300s to start operations in summer. It is reportedly planning to start routes from Belgrade to Bucharest, Budapest, Dubrovnik, Ljubljana, Skopje, Sofia and Tivat with other destinations in France, Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia being added at a later stage.
Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) will add a new six times weekly service from Munich to Timisoara on June 1 using CRJ-100s of Lufthansa CityLine (CL/Cologne/Bonn). Three times weekly A319-100 services from Munich to Tbilisi and Yerevan will also be launched in early June. Lufthansa has signed a codeshare agreement with JAT Airways (JU/Belgrade) covering all flights of both carriers from Frankfurt and Munich to Belgrade.
Carpatair (V3, Timisoara) will start five times weekly Saab 340 service from Arad to Bucharest Otopeni on May 16. It is reportedly planning to add a domestic feeder flight from its Timisoara hub to Satu Mare later this year.
easyJet Switzerland (DS, Geneva) will base three A319-100s in Basle/Mulhouse in mid-June. It will operate two daily flights to Nice and daily flights to Alicante and Barcelona as of June 17. Daily services to Naples, Palma de Mallorca and Rome Ciampino will start on June 24.
KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam) and PGA Portugalia Airlines (NI/Lisbon) have started codeshare operations on all routes between Portugal and The Netherlands. KLM codeshares on Portugalia's new Porto-Amsterdam route while Portugalia adds its code to all KLM services between Amsterdam and Lisbon. In other news, KLM will reportedly lease two more A330-200s and two more B777-200s to be delivered between 2006 and 2007.
TAP Portugal (TP, Lisbon) and Austrian Airlines (OS/Vienna) have signed a codeshare agreement. TAP now codeshares on AUA services from Vienna to Funchal and Lisbon as well as on all AUA domestic routes in Austria. AUA codeshares on TAP services from Lisbon to Faro, Funchal and Porto.
Styrian Spirit (Z2, Graz) has converted its option for a second CRJ-700. It will take delivery of its fifth aircraft in 2006. It is reportedly planning to add new routes from Graz to Berlin Tegel and Rome Fiumicino as well as from Maribor to Dubrovnik.
Air Madrid (NM, Madrid Barajas) will start weekly A310-300 service from Tenerife Norte to
Caracas on June 3, a weekly A330-200 service to Buenos Aires Ezeiza on August 4 as well as a weekly A330-300 flight from Las Palmas to Buenos Aires Ezeiza on October 1. In other news, it will launch a non-stop service between Madrid and Santa Cruz, Bolivia on June 19 using A330-200s.
