Nunavut submits opinion re First Air/Canadian North merger

The Government of Nunavut, the northernmost territory of Canada, has submitted its concerns regarding the proposed merger of First Air (7F, Carp) and Canadian North (5T, Yellowknife) to the federal government, the Nunatsiaq News has reported.

The territory's Transportation Minister David Akeeagok has, however, refused to disclose the content of the submission for the time being, despite queries from the local deputies.

flybe. (BE, Exeter) has announced that it completed the sale of its assets to Connect Airways, a consortium of Virgin Atlantic, Stobart Group, and Cyrus Capital as of February 21, 2019.

The consortium paid GBP2.8 million pounds (USD3.65 million) for flybe.'s assets. Following the completion of the transaction, Flybe Group plc is now a non-trading shell company which has no assets other than the proceeds from the transaction, which will be used to meet the remaining liabilities and shut the company down....

HK Express (UO, Hong Kong Int'l) has announced it will launch a new route from Hong Kong Int'l to Shimojishima which serves the Japanese island Miyako in the Okinawa prefecture. The service will become the first international route to the Japanese airport.

Ibom Air (Uyo) has taken delivery of its first two aircraft following the arrival of CRJ-900s C-FWNL (msn 15182) and C-FWNK (msn 15271) at Uyo Akwa Ibom International Airport on Wednesday, February 20.
