Love2Fly has taken delivery of its first aircraft, B737-800 9M-LOV (msn 29658). According to Skyliner Aviation, the former Ukraine International Airlines (PS, Kyiv Boryspil) narrowbody was ferried from Woensdrecht to Kuala Lumpur Subang via Dubai World Central over the course of October 16 and 17.

Gov't ready to scrap Air India brand to attract investors

The Indian government is planning to open bids for a 100% stake in Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l) and is ready to agree to scrap the flag carrier's brand to entice private investors, the Indian media have reported.

According to the Times News Network agency, the government will not set any preconditions regarding the brand name. During the previous, failed privatisation attempt in 2018 Delhi authorities sought to protect Air India's brand by requiring any potential bidders to keep the name for at least three years, and possibly longer....

Several foreign carriers have announced plans to start service to Tokyo Haneda Airport following the Japanese Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism's (MLITT) decision last month to allocate 25 daytime slots at the downtown Tokyo airport to non-Japanese airlines in time for the Summer 2020 season.

Qatar Airways (QR, Doha Hamad Int'l) is considering increasing its 10% stake in LATAM Airlines Group after rival Delta Air Lines (DL, Atlanta Hartsfield Jackson) announced it will buy a 20% stake in the South American holding, Reuters has reported.

Alaska Airlines (AS, Seattle Tacoma Int'l) is planning to convert two more Boeing narrowbodies to freighters but is struggling to secure a go ahead internally due to the impact of the B737 MAX grounding on the carrier, Cargo Facts has reported.

The carrier currently operates three B737-700(F)s, converted from Alaska Airlines' own passenger aircraft. Its cargo division would like to add larger narrowbody freighters, namely -800(F)s, but has difficulties obtaining feedstock inside the company.

Chile's SKY Airline orders ten A321neo - report

SKY Airline (Chile) (H2, Santiago de Chile Int'l) has ordered ten A321neo from Airbus (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac), Reuters has reported citing industry sources.

Neither the Chilean airline nor the manufacturer commented on the report which said SKY was the unidentified customer that placed the order on September 30.

State-owned lessor TGF - Tanzania Government Flight (Dar es Salaam) has signed a firm order agreement with De Havilland Aircraft of Canada for one Dash 8-400.

A press statement said the turboprop, which will be leased to and operated by Air Tanzania (TC, Dar es Salaam), will join three that are already in service and another previously ordered one. Overall, the state-owned carrier will operate a fleet of five Dash 8-400s configured in a 78-seat, dual-lavatory configuration.

Via Airlines (VC, Orlando Int'l) has filed for voluntary Chapter 11 bankruptcy at the Florida Middle Bankruptcy Court and plans to restructure through the court-mandated procedure and eventually fly again, the Orlando Business Journal has reported.

Iraqi Airways (IA, Baghdad) has issued a Request For Proposals (RFP) to all "European" airlines for the wet-lease of aircraft for use in running scheduled flights between Iraq and Europe on the Iraqi carrier's behalf. It did not specify the gauge and number of aircraft to be leased, or its definition of the term "European".
