WOW air to retire widebodies, cut long-haul ops

WOW air (WW, Reykjavik Keflavik) has announced it will reduce its fleet from twenty units to just eleven, retiring all widebody A330s in the process and cutting its long-haul network.

"The company is negotiating the return of several aircraft to the lessors, including all Airbus A330 widebodies. A contract is being negotiated to sell four Airbus A321 aircraft that are due to be delivered in January 2019, which will improve the company's liquidity by USD10 million," the carrier said in a statement, quoted by visir....

Lawsuit reveals further links between OneJet and Pittsburgh

A new lawsuit concerning defunct OneJet (J1, Pittsburgh Int'l) alleges that the chairman of Pittsburgh Int'l airport, whose operator is now suing the carrier, was once a shareholder in the airline Pittsburgh Post-Gazette has reported.

The lawsuit was filed on behalf of 51 creditors to the defunct airline, who are collectively owed USD10.1 million. It forced the airline into involuntary Chapter 7 bankruptcy. Florida's iAero Group to acquire Swift Air

iAero Group, a Miami-based integrated aviation business with ties to private equity, says it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Arizona-based charter specialist Swift Air (USA) (WQ, Phoenix Sky Harbor).

NokScoot (XW, Bangkok Don Mueang) is set to launch a 4x weekly service from Bangkok Don Mueang to Delhi Int'l on December 18, 2018, ch-aviation schedule analysis has revealed. The route will be NokScoot's maiden westbound service.

Ghana's Minister of Aviation, Joseph Kofi Adda, says Ethiopian Airlines (ET, Addis Ababa) will equip the country's upcoming national airline with four aircraft and will also oversee the running of the airline.
