NyxAir (OJ, Tallinn Lennart Meri) has secured its first ATR72-500(F) via a dry lease from Nordic Aviation Capital, the lessor said in a statement.

NAC has since confirmed the aircraft is OY-YBU (msn 541), currently in storage at Sønderborg airport. The 25.2-year-old ex-Poste Air Cargo (M4, Rome Fiumicino) turboprop was converted into a freighter in 2018.

The Estonian airline currently operates two ATR42-500s, four Saab 2000s, one Saab 340A, two Saab 340A(F)s, and three Saab 340Bs, the ch-aviation fleets module shows.

Nordic Aviation Capital owns three ATR72-500(F)s, of which two are currently placed with operators (one each with Loganair and Pelita Air). The ch-aviation fleets ownership module reveals that the lessor, which is focused on regional aircraft, also owns nine ATR42-500s, eighteen ATR42-600s, eighteen ATR72-500s, and 102 ATR72-600s, making it the largest lessor of ATR - Avions de Transport Régional aircraft globally.
