AirMed International (MEJ, Birmingham, AL) has added a first Challenger 605 as part of a 2025 fleet renewal plan that will see the operator's three Hawker 800-series aircraft replaced by Challenger 605s.

The 13.7-year-old Bombardier Business Aircraft, N955PM (msn 5883), was registered to AirMed International on March 25, 2025. It had been parked at Tucson International since November 2024 before repositioning to Birmingham, AL on April 26. The jet will now undergo aeromedical reconfiguration with Aerolite, a specialist in fixed-wing and helicopter medical interiors.

Previously configured for up to 12 passengers, it was operated under the Part 135 certificate of Sterling Aviation, where it was the last unit of the type. Sterling Aviation is one of three Part 135 certificates used by Airshare, which continues to offer a Challenger 605 for charter under the certificate of Circadian Aviation.

AirMed International currently operates a BAe-125-800(SP) and two Hawker 800XPi(2)s, all set to be replaced by Challenger 605s in 2025. The company's Part 135 fleet also includes a Beechjet 400A, a Hawker 400XP, a Citation Bravo, a King Air C90A, and a King Air B200.

AirMed International is part of the Global Medical Response (GMR) group, which collectively operates 88 fixed-wing aircraft and 385 helicopters through affiliated Part 135 carriers, including Air Evac EMS, Eagle Air Med, Guardian Flight, Med-Trans Air Medical Transport, and REACH Air Medical Services.
