VistaJet (Austria) (Salzburg) founder and international playboy, Thomas Flohr, has reportedly expressed a strong interest in acquiring the abandoned airport of Ciudad Real, 230km south of Madrid. ABC.es says Flohr's Vistajet group will likely submit a bid once the ongoing auction reaches a point in which the property can be sold without a reserve price, which in this case, has now been lowered to EUR80million (USD108.8million). The Spanish paper says Vistajet's interest in acquiring the airport stems from strong demand for business jet charters to Castilla-La Mancha during the annual hunting season there. Private charter traffic during the period alone generates EUR600million per annum.
