Sudamericana de Aviación (Latacunga) has outlined its initial phase of operations with flights out of its Latacunga base set to begin in October. In a press release seen by ch-aviation, the start-up said domestic operations would initially cover Guayaquil, Cuenca, and Manta International while internationally, flights would operate to México City International, Cancún and Havana International. As demand grows, so frequencies will be increased with more destinations to be added, the airline said. Sudamericana has two ex-Aerolíneas Argentinas (AR, Buenos Aires Jorge Newbery) B737-500s, HC-COP (msn 25176) & HC-CPC (msn 24900), lined up with the former already in Ecuador while the latter is still at Tucson International awaiting its delivery flight to South America.
