Rostock Airways (Rostock) is mulling the establishment of a base at Zweibrücken with flights to Berlin on the cards. AustrianAviation.net says initial services could operate onboard a CRJ200 with Boeing 737s to come with added demand. The official announcement of the route was to have been made at the recently ended ITB Berlin Travel Expo though was scuppered at the last moment owing to technical issues.

Despite many fanciful announcements regarding the launch of flights between various airports in Germany, Rostock Airways has yet to operate on a stable footing with its last venture - with Air Alps (Innsbruck) - collapsing after only a few flights.
