Nok Air (DD, Bangkok Don Mueang) has announced it is to discontinue its "Nok Mini" domestic brand as it moves to consolidate its image under a single brand. The carrier had employed the Nok Mini brand during a commercial agreement with the now defunct Siam General Aviation (Bangkok Suvarnabhumi). Under the terms of the agreement, SGA operated six Saab 340Bs for and on behalf of Nok Air on scheduled commuter services and charter flights to island resorts in Thailand.

"We don't need to use the Nok Mini brand any more," chief executive Patee Sarasin said. "We want to keep it as a single brand."

With the collapse of SGA earlier this year, Nok Air has resolved to continue to serve the vast majority of SGA's routes with its own fleet of B737-800s, Dash 8-400s and ATR72-500s taking over Nok Mini routes to Mae Sot, Phrae, Nan Nakhon, Ranong, Loei, Roi Et, Buri Ram, Chumphon as well as Chiang Mai-Udon Thani.
