Air Horizont (HT, Zaragoza) has postponed its planned launch date by approximately one month citing regulatory delays. Using a chartered Maltese B737-400, the start-up had planned to commence scheduled Zaragoza-Rome Fiumicino flights on May 14 but has yet to secure the necessary operating permits.

In addition to refunding tickets of passengers who have already booked, the virtual carrier is also offering them a 25% discount on any future flights with Air Horizont.

"Once we are absolutely certain of receiving [the] permits, the exact date for the launch of scheduled flights in June will be communicated to you," it said in a press release.

Air Horizont is one of two known Spanish start-ups launching this summer, the other being León Airlines (León). León Airlines has chartered a Saab 340A, SP-MRC (cn 143), from SkyTaxi (Poland) (TE, Wroclaw) for its flights linking Barcelona El Prat and Burgos. Flights from Burgos are supported by EUR300,000 (USD330,000) in state subsidies. It had originally intended to operate León-Barcelona flights but has given up those plans after Air Nostrum (YW, Valencia Manises) decided not to pull out of the route as initially announced.
