Northeastern Airlines (Shenyang Taoxian International) is a Chinese start-up planning to launch budget operations in the country's north-east using a fleet of A320s. Having secured regulatory approval from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC), the carrier has set a June 6, 2016 launch date for the start of commercial operations. Initially, Northeast will cover the Beijing and Shanghai metropolitan areas before expanding abroad.

Backed by CNY1 billion (USD156.1 million) in initial capital, Northeast Airlines is owned by Liaoning Hangjie Education Co. Ltd, Fushun Tongshun Capital Co., Shenyang Hangjie Labour Co., Shenyang Golden Eagle Etiquette Training School, Lu Yan, and Ren Tao.

In terms of business plan, the start-up intends to operate a fleet of sixty A320-200 aircraft by 2020 growing to 120 by 2025.
