Originair (Nelson, NZ) says it has switched in-flight operators ahead of its upcoming resumption of local New Zealand passenger services.

Following problems with its first two operators, Air Freight NZ (TFR, Auckland International) and Airwork Flight Operations (AWK, Auckland International), that resulted in two separate suspensions of operations, the virtual carrier has now settled on Inflite Charters (Auckland International) as its service provider.

Managing Director, Robert Inglis, said in a statement that whilst the disruption to Originair’s services has been disappointing, especially at a time of sustained growth in customer numbers, he has fully confident in the new relationship with the well-resourced Inflite Charters Ltd. Fieldair Engineering Ltd of Palmerston North will continue to maintain Originair’s Jetstream 31 ZK-JSH (cn 838) and Jetstream 32 ZK-ECI (cn 946).

As it stands, Originair will recommence its direct flights between Nelson, NZ and Palmerston North this September. However, in addition to resuming several select flights during the coming school holidays, Originair is now offering its charter services for flights throughout New Zealand.
