TIA 2000 (Bridgetown) has suspended flight operations as of April 18 citing a difficult operating environment.

General manager Simon Angoy told The Nation newspaper that the carrier would review its operating plans during the 60-day self-imposed suspension following which a decision on whether to resume flights will be taken. He denied, however, that TIA 2000 was in financial distress.

In the interim, 20 out of 31 employees are to be retrenched in addition to sub-contractors while affected passengers and creditors will be fully reimbursed/paid.

TIA started flights on May 29, 2017, using a fleet of two Beech 99s and a single DHC-6. A single Beech (twin turboprop) King Air was also to have been acquired this year. It connected Bridgetown, Grenada, St. Lucia Vigie, and St. Vincent Argyle International with scheduled flights while charters were offered throughout the Caribbean.
