Austrian confirms CityLine E195s will replace Fokker fleet

Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) has confirmed it is to replace its out going fleet of Fokker Aircraft (Woensdrecht) with Embraer (São José dos Campos) Regional Jets sourced from fellow Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l) subsidiary, Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich). On the formal approval of the airline's supervisory board, Austrian says beginning this autumn, it will add seventeen CityLine EMB-195s with the switch expected to be complete by the end of 2017.

Elite Airways acquires ex-Lufthansa CityLine CRJ-700

Elite Airways (MNU, Portland, ME) took delivery of a single CRJ-700, formerly D-ACPP (cn 10086) with Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich), on February 17. Skyliner Aviation tracked the aircraft's delivery from Cologne/Bonn to Melbourne, FL via Reykjavik Keflavik and Goose Bay.

The twelve-year-old twinjet is currently undergoing pre-entry into service maintenance before being put into with the rest of Elite's fleet which includes CRJ-100 and CRJ-200 jets.

Lufthansa Cityline to end CRJ-700 operations next month

Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich) is planning to operate its last CRJ-700 flights on March 29 ch-aviation schedule data has revealed. The last flight of the type is scheduled to be Munich to Luxembourg.

Austrian Airlines considering E-Jets as Fokker replacement?

Austrian Airlines (OS, Vienna) may consider replacing its ageing fleet of Fokker regional jets with newer Embraer E-Jets. Austrianwings quotes well-informed sources saying the carrier may receive second-hand Embraer E-Jets from another Lufthansa Group subsidiary, Lufthansa CityLine (CL, Munich). bmi regional to partner Lufthansa for Munich base operations

bmi regional (BM, Aberdeen Dyce) will base two Embraer Regional Jets, one ERJ-135 and one ERJ-145, out of Munich this summer as part of plans to open up flights to Berne, Liège, and Rotterdam. The routes are operated in conjunction with Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt Int'l).

The two carriers signed a codeshare agreement in April last year in which Lufthansa places its flight code on bmi flights from Bristol Int'l to Frankfurt Int'l and Munich as well as from Karlstad (Sweden) to Frankfurt.
