Filipino CAA reinstates SEAir Int'l, Skyjet Air's AOCs

Skyjet Air (M8, Manila) and SEAir International (XO, Clark) have been cleared to resume operations after the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) reinstated their respective Air Operator Certificates (AOC) this past weekend.

The CAAP said in a statement that both carriers had rectified eight deficiencies identified in their operations and safety mechanisms during a European Union-baced audit in April.

Filipino CAA grounds SEAir Int'l, Skyjet Air

The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) has suspended the Air Operators Certificates (AOC) of both Skyjet Air (M8, Manila) and SEAir International (XO, Clark) citing safety concerns.

Filipino media state the suspension, which took effect on Monday, May 18, centred on a report submitted by a European Union Assessment Team following an audit of the country's airlines held late last month.

Philippines' Island Transvoyager leasing an ATR42 from NAC

ITI - Island Transvoyager (ITI, Manila) has leased an ATR42-500 from Nordic Aviation Capital. The former Fiji Link (PI, Nadi) turboprop, PR-C4200 (cn 554), adds to a second of the type currently in service on behalf of SEAir International (XO, Clark).

The Filipino carrier specializes in taxi and charter operations between the capital Manila and the tourist resort town of El Nido in northern Palawan.

ITI - Island Transvoyager (ITI, Manila) has reportedly deployed its only aircraft, an ATR42-500, RP-C4201 (c/n 689), into active service for SEAir International (XO, Clark). ITI - Island Transvoyager received the ATR42 on lease from Danish leasing company, Nordic Aviation Capital, in December last year.
