Swiss European Air Lines (SWU, Zurich) has been renamed Swiss Global Air Lines (SWU, Zurich) ahead of the delivery of its first B777-300(ER)s, due later next year. According to parent Swiss International Air Lines, both it and Swiss Global Air Lines will operate under the SWISS brand.

Swiss begins ARJ-100 retirement, to debut E190 ops this month

Swiss European Air Lines (SWU, Zurich) has begun to phase out its fleet of twenty ARJ-100s with the first - HB-IXR (cn 3281) - having been ferried to Kemble in the United Kingdom for storage earlier this month.

Though the type will eventually be replaced by a fleet of thirty CS100s, the first four will be replaced by four EMB-190s wet-leased from Helvetic Airways (2L, Zurich).

Helvetic Airways takes over all Embraer 190s from Niki

Helvetic Airways (2L, Zurich) signed lease agreements for seven EMB-190 aircraft with its future lessor Bernina Aircraft Leasing, a wholly owned subsidiary of Airfleet Credit Corporation.

The seven EMB-190s are currently operated by Air Berlin (AB, Berlin Tegel) subsidiary Niki (HG, Vienna) from whom AFCC purchased the entire fleet of seven aircraft, for delivery to Helvetic between December 2014 and June 2015.
