Air Caucasus (UY, Tbilisi) has officially launched operations following its maiden flight from Tbilisi to Antalya, Turkey on Sunday, August 18. Georgia's Air Caucasus adds first of three ex-Avianca MD-83s

Air Caucasus (UY, Tbilisi) has taken delivery of its first MD-83, N992JM (msn 49948), formerly with Avianca (AV, Bogotá). The aircraft will be joined by two other MD-83s, msn 53122 and msn 53183, all of which are on lease from Swift AirCargo (Singapore Changi). It seems that earlier reports by local media in Georgia regarding planned B737-300 operations by Air Caucasus have been incorrect.

Georgia's Air Caucasus to add a total of four 737s to its fleet

Air Caucasus (UY, Tbilisi) is planning to add a further three 737s to its fleet, with one already having arrived, David Kodua, the airline's president has said. According to Mr Kodua, the aircraft are part of an agreement with an unnamed Singaporean lessor.
