World's last commercial A300B2 retired from revenue service

Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad) has concluded A300B2 operations with its and the world's last remaining commercial aircraft of the type, EP-MHA (cn 160), having been ferried to Kerman where it is slated to be scrapped.

The Iranian carrier had operated three of the aircraft, all of which were former TOA Domestic Airlines (JD, Tokyo Haneda) machines.

Iran's Mahan Air world's last A300 Classic operator

Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad) has phased out the majority of its A300 Classic fleet leaving EP-MHA (cn 160) as its only remaining A300B2. The 33 year-old aircraft is last of its type in revenue service anywhere in the world.

The Iranian carrier continues to operate A300 equipment with fourteen A300-600s and its associated variants still in active service.

Iran Aseman takes over two Mahan Air A320s

Iran Aseman Airlines (EP, Tehran Mehrabad) has taken over two A320-200s, EP-APF (cn 354) and EP-APE (cn 414), formerly with Mahan Air (W5, Tehran Mehrabad). As it stands, the aircraft are Iran Aseman's second Airbus Industrie (AIB, Toulouse Blagnac) type after its sole A340-300, EP-APA (cn 2), which was recently returned to service following maintenance at Tehran Mehrabad.

Iran Aseman also operates six ATR72s, three B727-200s, one B727-200(F), and seventeen Fokker 100s.

PIA Pakistan to retire last B747 next month

PIA - Pakistan International Airlines (PK, Karachi Int'l) will phase out its last remaining B747-300, AP-BFY (msn 23920), from revenue service with effect from mid-November sources have informed ch-aviation. The aircraft will be retired upon the conclusion of the carrier's return Hajj flights.

PIA has systemically replaced its ageing B747 fleet with newer B777-200(LR)s, four B777-200(ER)s, and three B777-300(ER)s.
