Lufthansa (LH, Frankfurt International) and SAS Scandinavian Airlines (SK, Copenhagen Kastrup) have agreed to discontinue their joint venture on traffic between Germany and Scandinavia due to changing market conditions, ending a near 20 year long partnership. In a communique, SAS stated that the agreement, which started in 1995, was "no longer compatible with their commercial interests as Lufthansa has transferred its European traffic outside of Frankfurt International and Munich to its subsidiary, germanwings (4U, Cologne/Bonn)." As Star Alliance members, however, the companies will still continue to offer code shares on each other's flights.
