Oman Air (WY, Muscat) could be privatized should the Omani government place it on a list of parastatals to be offloaded beginning next year. The official Oman News agency quotes Minister for Financial Affairs, Darwish al-Balushi, as saying that the finalized list would be published on January 2, 2014 but did specifically say whether or not the struggling national carrier would be on there noting only that Oman Air would likely be sold at "an appropriate time". Oman Air is expected to present its 10-year turnaround strategy to Muscat shortly after posting a USD253million loss for its 2012 Financial Year.
