Air Malta (Malta International) has not been approached by any prospective investors, Maltese Tourism Minister Karmenu Vella has confirmed. Responding to heated questions from opposition MP, Robert Arrigo, Mr Vella denied that Air Malta had been approached by any investors, let alone Air China (CA, Beijing Capital), as claimed by Mr Arrigo. However, MaltaToday writes that Mr Vella once again refused to categorically rule out the possibility of privatising the national airline in the future, insisting that in actual fact, plans to privatise Air Malta went back as far as 1994.
