Blue Wing Airlines (BWI, Paramaribo Zorg en Hoop) and Insel Air (7I, Curacao) have both independently entered into sales agreement with KLM Royal Dutch Airlines (KL, Amsterdam) for ex-KLM cityhopper (WA, Amsterdam) Fokker 70s earlier this month. Blue Wing plans to take delivery of PH-KZV (msn 11556) and PH-WXA (11570) in March and April. The Fokker regional jets will be the first jet aircraft for the Surinamese domestic carrier that so far operates a fleet of DHC-6s, Cessna Caravans and smaller turboprop aircraft on domestic scheduled and charter flights. Insel Air will take delivery of four aircraft (msn 11528, 11537, 11578 and 11583) between March and June. It had previously already added three ex-KLM cityhopper Fokker 50s to its fleet that also includes four MD-82s and two MD-83s. KLM plans to sell an additional Fokker 70 later this spring.
