Hong Kong Express (Hong Kong International) has unveiled a new brand and livery in line with its re-birth as a Low Cost Carrier. During a press conference held in Hong Kong on Monday, January 20, the carrier unveiled what it termed, a "funkier, fresher new logo and livery design that better match the airline’s new direction by incorporating elements of Hong Kong’s iconic Victoria Harbour." Mr. Andrew Cowen, Deputy CEO of HK Express explained, “We wanted to establish a new brand for HK Express (UO, Hong Kong International) to reflect and support the amazing transition that HK Express has undergone in the past year, and the fresh, youthful and dynamic sense that the new design inspires fits perfectly with our ethos as Hong Kong’s one-and-only low fare airline.” The airline will hold a launch event for the new brand in late March to celebrate the arrival of the first new aircraft to Hong Kong. The A320-200, the first of an additional six new jets to be added to the LCC's fleet during the course of the year, will be used to help boost the carrier's growing network with Seoul Incheon being the next destination planned to be added to its network.
