Mundicanarias (Madrid Barajas) is a new Spanish carrier looking to launch operations out of Madrid Barajas this Spring. Backed by Luis Mata and several former-Globalia executives, Spanish newspaper, El Confidencial, says the airline will offer year-round scheduled services from the Spanish capital to both Tenerife and Gran Canaria using an initial fleet of two A320-200s or B737s. The ch-aviation route database shows services on the routes in question are currently dominated by Air Europa (UX, Palma de Mallorca), Iberia (IB, Madrid Barajas) and Ryanair (FR, Dublin International).
