Eastern Air Lines (2009) (Miami International) says it will take delivery of its first aircraft - a B737-800 - in late summer 2014. Previously, the start-up had alluded to plans to lease Airbus A320 aircraft for its initial services.

Eastern Air Lines filed an application with the United States Department of Transportation in January for a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity, and plans on commencing its Part 121 certification with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) in due course.
