Fuzhou Airlines (FU, Fuzhou) has set an October 1 launch date having recently begun the process of securing an Air Operators Certificate from the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC).

The new full-service carrier hopes to complete the process and launch in time for China’s "Golden Week" holidays in October. TravelDaily Asia says the start-up will initially operate a fleet of Boeing 737s on major domestic trunk routes.

The carrier is a joint venture between Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) (60% shareholder), the Fuzhou state-owned Assets Investment Holdings Ltd., Century Golden Resources Group and Ningbo Ruitong Network Technology Co., Ltd.
