Air New Zealand (NZ, Auckland International) has brought forward its maiden B787-9 commercial flight to this weekend. According to Airline Route, ZK-NZE (msn 34334) will be deployed on the carrier's Auckland International to Sydney Kingsford Smith route on Saturday, August 9, with the return flight scheduled for Sunday, August 10.

Air New Zealand had previously planned to introduce the B787-9 on October 15 with flights to Perth International.

ANA - All Nippon Airways (NH, Tokyo Haneda), the second operator of the type, deployed its first B787-9, JA830A (msn 34522), into revenue service on August 7 with flights from Tokyo Haneda to Fukuoka, Matsuyama, and Osaka Itami.
