Skyjet Airlines (M8, Manila Ninoy Aquino International) has reportedly cancelled its Kalibo to Taipei Taoyuan, Taiwan charter services just one week after they were launched. According to the Chinese-language United Daily News, the move stranded an estimated 200 passengers on the Philippine island resort of Boracay.

The carrier was scheduled to operate thirteen charter flights over the period August 15 to August 31. However, the route did not get off to a good start when its inaugural August 15 service was called off after the captain detected unspecified "abnormalities" with the aircraft, a BAe 146-100 RP-C8538 (msn 1015). Thereafter, three more flights were cancelled for what Skyjet termed "aircraft mechanical malfunction."

The Taiwanese Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA) was warned that Skyjet will have to undergo further examination if it plans to fly to Taiwan again.
