Tigerair Taiwan (IT, Taipei Taoyuan) took delivery of its first aircraft, an A320-200 (sl) B-50001 (cn 6187), on Sunday, August 31 following a delivery flight from Toulouse Blagnac to Taipei Sung Shan via Al Ain and Bangkok Don Mueang.

The Tigerair (Singapore Changi) and China Airlines (CI, Taipei Taoyuan) joint venture is set to make its debut on September 26 with daily round-trip flights to Singapore Changi. Thereafter, Macau International, Hong Kong International, Japan and South Korea, will be added to the network early next year.

Kwan Yue, chief executive officer of Tigerair Taiwan, told a press conference in Taipei that "two or three" additional A320s will be delivered shortly with the longterm aim of operating a fleet of twelve jets over the next two to three years.
