AirAsia (AK, Kuala Lumpur International) founder, Tony Fernandes, is once more looking to venture into the private jet sector; this time as Tune Jet (Bangkok Don Mueang). Thai press reports state the AirAsia Group CEO has studied the market and is determined to make it more accessible.

"The cost of travelling by private jet today is exorbitant, and Mr Fernandes wants to bring it down to a more appropriate level so it can be affordable to a broader range of travellers," Thai AirAsia (FD, Bangkok Don Mueang) chief executive Tassapon Bijleveld told the Bangkok Post.

Fernandes is reportedly considering setting up the operation under another of his interests - the Tune Group which includes Tune Air (a substantial shareholder in AirAsia Group), Tune Hotels, Tune Money, Tune Insurance, Tune Talk, Think Big Digital, Tune Box, Tune Studios, the Queens Park Rangers Football Club and Epsom College in Malaysia.

Fernandes is also the CEO of Caterham Jet (Kuala Lumpur Subang), a Malaysia-based business-class jet service operator that proffers its services to executives travelling throughout South-East Asia.
