WOW air (Reykjavik Keflavik) is set to make its US market début in March next year. According to its website, the Icelandic budget carrier will begin offering a 6x weekly service to Boston with effect from March 28, 2015.

WOW air had originally planned to commence the route during this year's summer high season only to scrub those plans in February citing a lack of suitable landing slots at Boston airport.

Though it currently operates a fleet of three A320-200s and one A319-100, WOW air has said it is considering acquiring either B757-200s or A321-200s to help in the launch of its North American route network.

In the same way as fellow Icelandic operator, Icelandair (FI, Reykjavik Keflavik), has done, WOW air intends to leverage the geographical position of its Reykjavik Keflavik hub to provide budget flights between the United States and Europe.
