Aigle Azur (Paris Orly) has announced it is to suspend its twice-weekly Paris Orly to Moscow Vnukovo service later this month as a result of the ongoing Ukrainian crisis. Announcing an annual loss of EUR7.6million for its latest Financial Year, airline managing director Cédric Pastour said the route's failure to perform had severely affected the carrier's finances.

"This result, along with the prospects for the current year, were burdened by the decline in revenue on the Paris-Moscow route that has borne the brunt of the Ukrainian crisis. As it stands, the status-quo is untenable for the company and has lead us to the decision to suspend this service; this decision will be effective from October 26," the carrier said.

The Hainan Airlines (HU, Haikou) subsidiary will, however, maintain codeshare flights to Moscow Vnukovo through partner Transaero Airlines (Moscow Vnukovo) which operates the route daily.
