Air Berlin (1991) (Berlin Tegel) says Germany's federal aviation office (Luftfahrt-Bundesamt - LBA) has rescinded a previous decision denying the carrier codeshare rights with Etihad Airways (EY, Abu Dhabi International) on 34 routes for the upcoming winter season.

"Etihad has been informed that the agreement with us on codeshares has been approved for the winter season," a spokesman for Air Berlin told Reuters.

The German carrier threatened to take the LBA's decision to court when it announced it would not give the carrier the go-ahead to codeshare with Etihad on its upcoming winter schedule. The LBA had reportedly said that 34 out of the 60 requested routes could not be approved on the grounds that they violated the terms of Germany's Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) with the United Arab Emirates.
