Airwork Flight Operations (AWK, Auckland International) has signed an agreement with Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. for two firm and five optional B737-400 passenger-to-freighter conversions. The first aircraft, ZK-JTQ (msn 24442), completed its conversion into a B737-400(F) and was redelivered to the New Zealand freight specialist in August this year and has already been placed into service on behalf of local haulage firm, Toll Group.

"As part of Airwork’s fixed wing dry lease expansion plan, it has recently committed to purchasing six B737-400 sister ship aircraft from a major international airline to add to the one aircraft it previously acquired," it said.

Airwork also operates four B737-300(F)s.
