Airlink (South Africa) (4Z, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo) will retire its last seven remaining Jetstream 41s as part of plans to streamline the carrier's fleet, which also includes twelve ARJ-85s, fourteen E135s, and one E145.

"Airlink now needs to focus on simplification of its fleet by way of rationalization of types and to this end, emphasis will be on increasing its fleet of larger jet aircraft to cope with growing demand and greater distances," airline CEO Rodger Foster said. "The J41 has served this company well and we have continued to invest in the fleet."

The turboprops are used to operate flights connecting Johannesburg O.R. Tambo, Phalaborwa, Polokwane, Richards Bay, Maputo, Durban King Shaka, Mbombela, Bloemfontein, East London, and Port Elizabeth for and on behalf of South African Airways (SA, Johannesburg O.R. Tambo).

The sale of the aircraft is being handled by BAe Systems specialist, Cockley Brake Ltd.
